We have a busy life lately. We are going everywhere and trying to get life under control for the moment. Lexi is getting so big. She is almost walking but not quite there. She is a little scared to walk alone right now but that's ok. James has a job he loves. He is working hard and trying to do everything he can to be better. We are going to try everything in our power to get home for Christmas this year. I can't wait to met my new nephew and my niece that will be 2 in March. I am so excited. We will stay at my mother-in-laws on the 23rd and 24th and then go to my parents place the 25th and 26th. It's going to be wonderful. Nothing new with me. Just raising Lexi and doing the best that I can. She will be 1 in January which is wonderful. That's our life right now and I hope that I will be able to update this more. Lexi just has to let me be on the computer for longer then 5 minutes.

New Nephew

I have a new nephew. Ben and Christy had a little boy on the 3rd. His name is Samuel Steven Holt. He weight 7 lbs. 10 oz (I think) and was 19.75 inches. He is there smallest one yet. We are so happy for them and love them lots. As soon as I get a picture of him I will post it.

Lexi's Baby Blessing

We had Lexi blessed on Easter and on General Conference. It was a good day. A very long day too. We had 40+ people in our small apartment and then we watched conference with some friends then went to James' grandma's house for a Price family party. It was a long day. Later in the week we went to the temple to watch James' brother get his endowments out for his mission. We also started a online store with a 33 year old company (Amway and World Wide Group). We are very excited about it. The store website is pricerightenterprises.mychoices.biz. Anyways, we have a few pics of the blessing (I am hoping to get more soon).

I am sitting up by myself as long as I have a couch. I know it doesn't look like it but she does.

I have had a long day today. I met a lot of people and went to my great grandma's. Boy am I tired. All of us were. Time to recover from a long week.

Well, she finally did it. She slept in her own crib for the whole night. She would normally sleep with me on my arm and last night I decided to put her in her crib and see how long she will sleep. She ended sleeping all night until we woke up. I was very impressed with her. At the same time, I just wished she wouldn't grow up. My mama said this would happen but I didn't think it would happen already. I love my little girl and I am so happy that she is sleeping through the night and that she slept in her crib. What a big girl.

Getting Better

Well, Lexi is getting better at sleeping at night. She slept for 7 hours last night. It was so interesting and weird at the same time. I just wasn't ready for it. I woke up a few times to make sure she was fine. It was really nice. Now to get her to sleep in her crib which will take a little time but at least she isn't sleeping on my chest anymore. Now it is just my arm. It is really nice.

This is Lexi in her first dress. It was her Valentine's Day dress. She is beautiful in it and after a crying fit she was just fine in it. I will be happy when she is done with the naked part of growing up.

I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything. We had computer problems and just got back James' computer on Thursday. I will post some pictures of Lexi in the next few days. She is growing wonderfully. She is over 8 pounds now and she is very good at making mom and dad laugh. She will be 7 weeks tomorrow and she is just so smart. She had us going on Saturday by pointing her toes like a dancer. I guess she is in training. She likes to copy mommy a lot. We love her to death and we are so happy she is in our lives.

I just wanted to post a little something. We welcomed Alexandrea Price this morning at 5:50 am. She was 6 pounds 8 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. I will post pictures later but we are very happy to have her here with us and just can't seem to stop holding her. She is beautiful and very sweet. We love her so much. As I said I will post pictures later. Just right now, we are pretty tired and want to get some sleep but they will be up in the next week for sure.

ONE YEAR

Well, we made it to the one year mark and some much has happened but only a few things that are perfect for us.
First, last year at this time, James didn't have a job. One year later, James has a job that will pay him well and keep food in our mouths and diapers on our baby.
Last year, we weren't pregnant, which is a very good thing. This year, we are expecting our first, which is a girl, and can't wait to hold her in our arms and kiss her to death.
Last year, I was working at Subway and having fun. This year, I am not able to work, due to health of me and the baby, and still having fun. Also, talking with one of my friends that I met at Subway.
That is just a few things we have noticed that can happen in just one year. We are still madly in love with each other and help each other grow and be better in life. We are still getting to know each other a bit more but we love the challenge. We had fun one day while watching tv. We watched the Newlywed game and did really well. We thought it was great how well we talk to each other and are with each other when we can be. When James is home we try to be in the same room together, just so we can be close. One year, man, a lot can happen in this second year too. I love it.

Well, I had my friend baby shower and with only a couple of people showing up, I had a great time. It was family that showed up but it was a last minute change but still really good. I had cake and sandwiches and other stuff and my friend Elisabeth is a great person for only have a week to get everything together. Thanks Elisabeth. Fun dream

I had a dream last night that I hope comes true but at the same time doesnt. I dreamt that Lexi came to us on Dec.21. As some of you know, this isn't a great day for me. I have lost three people that meant a lot to me on this exact day. Also, it is a day that I saw my Grandma Holt for the last time. I want this dream to come true because it will be cool to have something good happen to me on this day but at the same time Lexi will be like 3 weeks early. She was healthy and everything so there is no worries there. The hardest thing is just knowing that she might come to us early. I would love for her to be here early but it would make that a very special day for me. I guess we will see what happens.

We finally got our scanner working so I scanned the last pictures of Lexi that we got from an ultrasound. They aren't the most recent but maybe we will get those on our next one. But here she is, the beautiful one she is.

We are doing great

Had another appointment on Monday and everything is going great. Lexi is growing wonderfully and she has a normal heart rate. We are able to breathe about her now. The doctor is happy with us about how well she is doing. As long as I keep to taking my drugs then everything will be just fine. We are taking a Lamaze class in December. Already am signed up for it and everything so I am not worried about that. Our next appointment is on September 16th so we are going to check my thyroid again and see how things are going. We are also going to make an appointment for our next ultrasound. We are getting close and getting happier about Lexi joining our family.

Not much longer

Well, we have hit the point where we are going to see the doctor every two weeks now. My thyroid has gone down a bit and I don't have diabetes, but I do have low iron. Now I have another pill I have to take. I am a pharmacy now. Lucky me. I thought this won't hit until I was a grandparent. Oh well, teach James early. Our next appointment is Nov. 2nd. We also went in for an ultrasound and everything looks great. She is growing just great. She is almost 3 pounds. She wasn't very happy either because we woke her up. She was kicking me up a storm. Not a happy baby. But good news is that we are on WIC now. That will help a lot. We were the last people there on Wednesday night. It was super quiet and the staff was cleaning when we were leaving. At least we have some stuff to get food. I will be eating it mostly but I don't think James is too upset. He seems to be handling it ok right now. We are excited for Thanksgiving. It will be our first as a married couple. I will be cooking dinner, which I am nervous about, but I am happy too. After Thanksgiving, we turn our heads to Christmas, which I will be making homemade potato soup and having bread bowls. A tradition I want to do. My mama started it a few years ago and I love it. The soup is so good. I just hope I can make it as well as she does. I guess we will see. At least I can call her and ask for help. She won't be able to be here but I think with her help and her being on the phone, I will be able to do it. This will be the first Christmas alone as a married couple. We are going to start our own traditions which I am happy about. But that is what is going on right now. Nothing really new yet. Hoping for pictures soon still. I need to get over this extra fat thing. I know, it is good fat. If I hear it one more time, I just might scream and I don't think James will be very happy about that. Anyways, I will keep you posted as time goes on.

Busy week

Well, I had a busy week last week. I have a cold and I had a fever at one point. I am fine now, just trying to get rid of this stupid cold, but good. James is still looking for a job. We had a few that we would be happy with but he took a little to long to fill out the application, not his fault though. He had to get a number to where he is working now and by the time he got that the jobs we were looking at were filled. He is still looking though. We are not going to give up any time soon. We have an appointment for an ultrasound today so we will see what happens. My next doctor's appointment is on Monday and we have an appointment for WIC on Wednesday. Very busy schedule right now. It won't slow down anytime soon, I know. But at least this I can handle. I am happy about. As long as I don't get nailed with something huge then I will be fine. I won't lose it to stress if nothing huge happens. At least right now, I am fine. Anyways, that is our life right now. We are just taking the punches that it throws at us and we are growing stronger. At least we can grow from everything happening right now. It is nice to know.

It has been a while

I know I haven't written for a while. We have been pretty busy with life and everything. I went to my appointment and everything is looking good. I am about to hit my every 2 weeks visits. I am doing ok. My pulse has gone down a lot, which is a good thing, and Lexi is doing just fine. We will be doing a couple more ultrasounds to make sure she is growing just fine and that she is doing ok, better safe then sorry says the doctor. We also talked about Lamaze classes and we found one we like. It is two classes, Friday night and all day Saturday. We just need to call them and get in the class. We will talk it out and get it done. It will help calm me down a bit about delivery and things like that. We can even walk the labor and delivery area and see what it looks like. That is pretty nice. We also have cable, internet and phones now. We are happy about that. We are connected to the world again. It took some time but we got there. James is going to a job fair on Wednesday. He is pretty happy about it. We are hoping that he gets something. It would be nice. Pray for him. Anyways, that is us right now. Hopefully now I can keep you all updated on what is going on. Someone asked about my pregnancy shots and I am not doing them until my belly is a bit bigger. Self conscience body and mind. When it gets better and bigger then I will post pics that show off my belly. Just letting you know.

Yep. We are feeling Lexi move. It is really cool. I know it is a little late but she had some things to do to get through. But we can feel her kick and hit now. And boy does she kick and hit. If I am sitting wrong she will kick and hit me. If she doesn't like it, she will let me know. It is really funny too because James finally got to feel her too because everytime he would come to feel her she would stop moving. It was funny. But both of us have felt her and it is a wonderful feeling.

Half Way There

Well, I have made it half way there. I am still having trouble but at least I shouldn't worry too much about a miscarry now. If my thyroid doesn't go down then I will worry again but I think it is going down. I have an appointment tomorrow, not with my doctor. She is on vacation. I will be with someone else so I don't know how I will be. We are hoping for nothing but good news with everything that has been going on.
James is still looking for a job. He is applying everywhere he can. The only problem is that he isn't getting any calls. It is really dumb. We are hoping to hear from someone asap. I emailed a former teacher of mine at the college and see if I can do tutoring in accounting there, even though I am not a student. I am just waiting to hear back from him.
That is our life in a nutshell. We are just living the best way we can at this point. Thanks for all your prayers and help. We appreciate it.

We have finally finished registering for Lexi. We registered at Babies R Us and Wal-Mart. We got everything we could think of and on top of that more then we could think of. We are excited about her coming to be with us. I still have a long time to wait though. But at least we are registered.

We found out yesterday that we are having a girl. Already she is being a lady because everytime we would get an ultrasound she would move away because we disturbed her beauty sleep. It also took a bit of time to find out that she was a girl because her legs were crossed most of the time. But we finally got it. Like I said we have a name as well. Her name will be Alexandrea Price, going by Lexi. We are still expecting her on January 12th. The doctor said she is right on schedule still. No problems that we are aware of, haven't gotten my thyroid test back yet, so we are doing good. She is happy and so are we. James' eyes can't stop dancing right now. It is funny actually. I know they will and then when he holds her for the first time, once again they will dance. It will be funny when we can feel her kick and hit, in other words move. They won't stop dancing again. Anyways, just informing you that read this blog. Thanks for everything everyone has done for us. We love you all.

We had some fun on the 4th. We had a friend sleep over and she braided my hair. We are going to see Harry Potter on the 14th and I am going as Hermione and James is going as Ron. It is going to be a lot of fun. Anyways, we went swimming and we did my hair. Then we went to the place that Elisabeth nanny's and saw fireworks. It was very nice. We were very tired and still had church in the morning. We got very tired of that too. We are in nursery and the other person that was suppose to be with us this week didn't show up. We had the kids to us. At least someone can in the first hour to help but then left at the hardest part. James did the lesson and I did the snack. At least the kids love us and they were good for us. I don't know about the other people but they are good for us. Anyways, I will post pictures of the hair when we go to the show. Then it will be ready and will look good.

Life in the fast lane

I guess I can say something now because we have passed this rough point but I am pregnant. Don't know what we are having yet but I am 7 weeks along and doing better. We hit a rough patch during week 6 and thought we lost the baby but still there and kicking. We have our selves a fighter. The baby is due January 12th as of right now but might come early. As soon as I can, I will put up the ultrasound pic. We really are blessed right now but unfortunalty James is still looking for a job. He is going to try a few things so hopefully it will be ok. We have medicade and church help so at least we are surviving. I will be happy once this face lane is over and it can slow down. Also, I am not able to work because I have to take it easy. Also, I am on limited things. This makes it really tough but I am getting through it. At least I am not on bed rest anymore.

I haven't posted in while because of the fact that we have no internet at home right now. So what is going on right now is that we are still looking for jobs. I have slowed down a bit right now because I am trying to keep a clean house right now. James is still looking hard. We got help from the church and all we have to do is volunteer at the Bishop's Storehouse. It is a blast being there. We are having a great time. We appricate all the prayers we are getting in our behalf and we hope that we can get more until this rocky part of our marriage is gone. My grandma got really sick but it seems she is doing better now. We are going to loose her just yet. We are making sure that we do what we need to do to be healthy and happy. We love you all and thank you tons for everything you guys do for us. Even if it just prayers. Thanks again.

Dreams come true

James singing in Conference and I just found out today that my mama is going to be working in the Sacramento temple as an ordinance worker. She has wanted to do this since the temple was in thought. She is so happy to be able to work there. She is work on Saturday nights so she doesn't have change her schedule. We are so happy that she is having a dream come true.
James is singing in confernce tomorrow afternoon. He has wanted to do this since...who knows how long. He is having that dream come true. He so excited for tomorrow. I can't wait to see him up there. I don't think he will stop smiling before and after for a while.

Pains

A back and a knee don't mix. Well of course not but I have found this out the hard way. I was playing with James last night and slipped on the carpet. My back went into his knee. He feels so bad. He is taking care of me but I am fine. Just some spazism but I am fine. I think it is just bruised a little and I will survive. It is very nice to have a husband that cares so much for me and I care for him just the same amount.

Busy Weekend

We just finished a visit from the family. Mama was staying with us and James' parents stayed at his grandma's. Mama came into town because she got accepted into an art competition. She had a table that got in. It is at display in the conference center. If you go see it, it is in section L. It is on display until October. We are all so happy for her. I can't wait to see it again.
James' parents came into town for a wedding. Friend of the families. We got to see them a little bit but because of things going on and life getting in the way, we only got to see them a little bit. It was great to see them too. We had Samantha with us for a bit on Friday and that was fun.
Also, my mama taught me how to cook. I cook now a lot of food and freeze it to eat later. We got a lot of food to last us at least two weeks. It was a fun and tiring weekend. Now to get James and I jobs and him graduated.

We have been busy and trying to look for a job. We are looking hard and trying but nothing yet. We are enjoying each others company and loving being married. We want to get pregnant but we are waiting. We want at least one of us to have a job. James is working hard at school and is trying to get good grades this semester. He is really thinking about going to the U or the Y for the rest of his schooling. He has to go to school for the summer to get the classes he dropped or failed but he will do great. He is going to apply to the schools after he is almost done with summer. We know that he might not start school again till winter but we will deal with that when we get to it. But that is us in a nutshell. Sorry for the long wiat.

Life is all over the place

Well, we are back in Utah and trying to get on your feet at this point. He is in school right now going full time and looking for a job and keeping me sane all at the same time. I am working full time at Subway and trying to find my internship. Also we are still unpacking and trying to find time to have a house warming party here for all of our Utah friends and family. So life is going and we are trying to keep up with it. I figured I would drop a line and let you guys know what is going on.

Yep. Friday I got sealed to the man of my dreams. The sweetest man in the world, in my opinion. I am happy and now just have to get through Christmas. Shouldn't been too hard. I am spending it with my family and then we got spend a late Christmas with his family.

Well, I was in Nevada for the week of Thanksgiving. Yep. I met the new family. And I must say........................I had a blast. I love this family almost as much as my family. They took me in and accepted as one of them. It was nice and wonderful. So, I guess that means I don't have a "monster-in-law". I have a mother-in-law and I am happy that we get along.

The LDS Church been under what boils down to an extremist attack because of our stance on Prop 8. Here are the facts... and supporting documentation for the information. The reaction really is a sad statement about those reacting... not the LDS Church.THE FACTS:
1. Mormons make up only 2% of the population of California. There are approximately 750,000 LDS out of a total population of approximately 36 million.
2. If one estimates that 250,000 LDS are registered voters (the rest being children), then out of a total of 5,661,583 yes votes, LDS voters made up 4.4% of the Yes vote and 2.3% of the total Proposition 8 vote (11,050,301).
3. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) donated no money to the Yes on 8 campaign (except for a nominal, and legal, in-kind donation of $2,078.97, to cover the travel expenses of leaders coming from Utah for a meeting). Individual members of the Church were encouraged to support the Yes on 8 efforts and, exercising their constitutional right to free speech, donated whatever they felt like donating.
4. The No on 8 campaign raised more money than the Yes on 8 campaign. Unofficial estimates put No on 8 at $38 million and Yes on 8 at $36 million, making it the most expensive non-presidential election in the country.
5. Advertising messages for the Yes on 8 campaign are based on case law and real-life situations. The No on 8 supporters have insisted that the Yes on 8 messaging is based on lies. Every Yes on 8 claim is supported.
6. The majority of our friends and neighbors voted Yes on 8. Los Angeles County voted in favor of Proposition 8. Ventura County voted in favor of Proposition 8. San Diego County voted in favor of Proposition 8. Orange County voted in favor of Proposition 8. San Luis Obispo County voted in favor of Proposition 8. Sacramento County voted in favor of Proposition 8. Fresno County voted in favor of Proposition 8. And the list goes on and on: Merced, San Bernardino, Riverside, Mariposa, Tulare, Imperial, etc.
7. African Americans overwhelmingly supported Yes on 8. Exit polls show that 70% of Black voters chose Yes on 8. This was interesting because the majority of these voters voted for President-elect Obama. No on 8 supporters had assumed that Obama voters would vote No on 8.
8. The majority of Latino voters voted Yes on 8. Exit polls show that the majority of Latinos supported Yes on 8 and cited religious beliefs (assumed to be primarily Catholic).
9. The Yes on 8 coalition was a broad spectrum of religious organizations. Catholics, Evangelicals, Protestants, Orthodox Jews, Muslims - all supported Yes on 8. It is estimated that there are 10 million Catholics and 10 million Protestants in California. Mormons were a tiny fraction of the population represented by Yes on 8 coalition members.
10. Though the Church urged its members to "do all [they] can to support the proposed constitutional amendment," not all Mormons voted in favor of Proposition 8. Our faith accords that each person be allowed to choose for him or her self. Church leaders have asked members to treat other members with "civility, respect and love," despite their differing views.
11. The Church did not violate the principal of separation of church and state. This principle is derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ." The phrase "separation of church and state", which does not appear in the Constitution itself, is generally traced to an 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson, although it has since been quoted in several opinions handed down by the United States Supreme Court in recent years. The LDS Church is under no obligation to refrain from participating in the political process, to the extent permitted by law. U.S. election law is very clear that Churches may not endorse candidates, but may support issues. The Church has always been very careful on this matter and occasionally (not often) chooses to support causes that it feels to be of a moral nature.
12. Supporters of Proposition 8 did exactly what the Constitution provides for all citizens: they exercised their First Amendment rights to speak out on an issue that concerned them, make contributions to a cause that they support, and then vote in the regular electoral process. For the most part, this seems to have been done in an open, fair, and civil way. Opponents of 8 have accused supporters of being bigots, liars, and worse. The fact is, we simply did what Americans do - we spoke up, we campaigned, and we voted.

Well, James and I have been looking for a while for a place and we have found one that we like...a lot. It is called mission meadowbrooks. It is 3900 south 700 west. It is a nice area and nice managament. As soon as we get the place I will put pictures of it up. I hope I get it. It is beautiful there and some of the managament is living there. That is a great sign. I really hope I get.

A friend had this on her blog and I thought it was a great idea. I know I am going to do it and I hope you all do it too. That way we are really counting our blessings. We won't get through all of them but it is nice to see what we have.
We all have many blessings in our lives and therefore have a lot to be thankful for! Even during those trials or bad days in our lives, which we all have, I know there's something we should be thankful for.I challenge you to make a list everyday for the month of November of 5 things you're thankful for (since the month is already into we'd better get crackin'!). You can do it your blog or in a journal, so long as you write it down. None of these 5 things can be repeated for the whole month...which knocks out family, friends, and the gospel pretty quickly.I'm hoping we'll gain a greater appreciation for those blessings we tend to overlook.

Prop. 8 voting

Sorry we haven't blogged in a week. I got sick and we have been busy with school, for him, and work. I wanted to say the numbers for the Prop. 8 in california. I am happy they passed. Now if people stopped protesting it, it will be fine.

Because of you, Proposition 8 has been enacted! The final numbers this afternoon from the Secretary of State’s office show that Prop 8 was adopted by a margin of 52.5% Yes to 47.5% No. We racked up a 504,479 vote victory!

Weekly Walks with James

James and I have started to hiking Ensign Peak together weekly. We are doing this instead of taking walks on Sundays. It is better excerise.

Yep. I spent halloween at work this year. It was nice though because we were able to dress up. All of us at work dressed up...because we didn't want to wear Subway clothes for once. We had a good time and all the girls got great completements.

James and I went to a halloween party on the 17th. We had a blast there. I havent' been to a party in so long. I had fun. We went as Egyptian royality.

This pitcure is blurry but you can see what we looked like with a little smile.

Now we really look like royality. No smiling. I was Queen Rebekah, Cleopatria's mom, and James was Pharoah Ramaies.The whole outfits put together. I love the makeup on both of us. I did them both.

I loved this party. I had fun dressing up and the dress was very comfortable. I am dressing up for work on Friday so you will get to see more pictures of me but this time as a football player.

Bridal shower

I have just found out yesterday that my future grandma in law is throwing me a bridal shower. I am so excited becasue of the fact that I didn't think that anyone in Utah was going to throw me one. When I told my best friend Mary this, she told me that she is throwing a surprise one for me. That is about all I know about that one. Anyways, James' Grandma Price called me and told me that they were hoping to do it on Saturday. Lucky, I already had that Saturday off so I didn't have to worry about anything. The best part is that all I have to do is show up. I am really good at that as you guys know. She is going to have Grandma Hintze is going to help too. I don't think that it is going to be a lot of people but getting to know family helps a lot. Maybe I won't be a nervous going to meet James' parents and siblings by getting to know the aunts and uncles and grandparents more. Yes Tracy I am still nervous. I also found out that the annoucements are ready and getting sent to my parents who in turn are sending them to me and Tracy (future mom-in-law). I am excited but scared at the same time. Only 45 more days and I get my endowments out and 52 more days and I get married to the love of my life. I'm a little stressed but that will pass soon.

I am doing this blog for James and I as we start our lives together and grow together. I have to friends (one a sister) that have been blogging and I talk to James and told him that we are doinng one for us. He was fine with it. YEAH!!!!!
